Research and Specification

The first thing we do after our initial contact is to meet and form a product brief. This is the starting point of the project and it's aim is to capture, in broad strokes, what you want your website to acheive. We ask questions, make suggestions and do a lot of listening, so that by the time we part, we have a good grip on what creating the website is going to require from us. We need this information because the project brief is the document from which we create our cost estimates, and we like them to be as accurate as posible.

After agreeing the brief with the client, we set about learning as much as possible about the things which are likely to effect the success of the project. We do this from not only our perspective, but also the perspective of our clients and their own customers and target markets.

Once we’ve developed a list of features and functionality, we create a full website specification covering everything from the overall site structure, right down to the last detail. This document covers things like navigation, feature definition, data entry and browser support. We have to know what the site will do before we even think about how it will look.
